i don’t think there is a fixed meaning for a particular type of piercing. the significance really depends on the individual, and his/her own reason for getting it. a popular conception, for instance, is that piercings on the nipples and privates show that the people are sexually adventurous, and this may be true for alot of people with such piercings, but isn’t necessarily always the case. piercings, like tattoos, are an expression of the individual. meanwhile, do bear in mind that some piercings also have religious significance.
