Question by Jerry Ransom: Does anyone know of a good picture of a Celtic Ram?
I am looking for a Celtic knot-work ram to go on the inside of my calf for a tattoo. I have looked using various image search engines and cannot find anything at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You’re probably going to have to get a few images for inspiration, and combine them. Give them to a competent tattoo artist and tell then exactly what you want. Then they’ll draw up a design for your approval.

A lot of the celtic knot tattoos with a beast that I’ve seen are dragons. You could substitute a ram in its place

Picts were a late Bronze Age to late Iron Age people who lived in the Scottish Highlands (primarily Eastern and Northern Scotland). Much of what we know about the Picts comes from contemporary historians, mostly Romans such as Eumenius. The name Pict isn’t even what they called themselves, no one knows what they called themselves, but the Romans named the Picti which is a Latin derivative meaning “painted or tattooed people”. While it is true that the Picts wore ceremonial tattoos they were most famous for the fact that they painted themselves with woad (a blue pigment derived from a flowering plant found in abundance in the British Islands) prior to battle. Picts were not as primitive as some would have you think, in fact archaeological records so far indicate that the Picts were not unlike other neighboring Gaelic and Celtic peoples.

Question by Will: any good ideas for a memorial tattoo?
My nephew Alex passed away a few months ago and most of my family is planning to get memorial tattoos for him. Our family is Catholic and “An Old Irish Blessing” was sung at his funeral. I would like to incorporate some of the lyrics with a Celtic cross somehow. If anyone has any good ideas how to make it look i would be very appreciative!

I don’t know how this would look, but I know those celtic crosses have squiqqly type lines within them, what if the lines were the lyrics in a script style text? I’m sorry for your loss. What a great way to memorialize him though.

My fiance and I were looking at rings today. The one he likes has engraved details on it (celtic knots) and is white gold but REALLY expensive, like $ 800. He said he likes the white gold ones and he likes the ones with designs on them. We were looking at Kay Jewelers and I know the mark up is crazy on them at the retail jewelers. I have looked online and have not had a lot of luck. Anyone know if any good websites? Or places to buy this?

I am writing a book about 5 poeple (17 – 25 yrs old) with special powers.
Every character is a representative of an Ancient Civilization.
I have Greek, Egyptian, Chinese, Hindu and Norse or Celt.
I want each person to have a symbol from his/her culture.

I already found symbols about Greece & Egypt but i have no idea about the others.

Symbols of good or in general symbols that mean something but no bad symbols.

What kind of symbols are ‘Celtic’ symbols? Post some pics and I might be able to help you. I don’t know of any reliable websites off hand that deal the Celtic symbolism, much of what is out there is gobbledy gook from people who do a little bit of research and come up with their own ideas and post it.

I am a Celtic Pagan and have Druid friends, and I might be able to help.

Question by WhereFireRains: Does anyone mind linking a good site for celtic info? Signs/symbols/knots/arts etc..?
I’m getting a full sleeve tattoo on my right arm. I love tattoos and art. Great way of expressing ones self and to be honest I kind of like the feeling when getting them done too haha. It’s going to be basically green and black with whatever I decide later on and how the drawing and stuff the artist and I work on come out. It’s going to be for the most part celtic knot work/interlacing knots going all the way up and down intertwined with green fire I’m thinking. Possibly black. Maybe green and black =P Not totally sure yet.
