The tattoos all took a few hours and they did hurt him but only because of the size and the amount of time it took but if they were that bad he wouldnt have had so many. The main thing to worry about is that if you have the right design not about gettting it done. The place you want behind the ear is boney but iv got mine on my ankles and wrist and the ankles are very boney aswell but they are small tattoos so they were ok. I was worried before my first one but as soon as i got it i couldnt wait to get the next.The tattooist i went to was really cool he made me feel at complete ease we were just chatting and laughing. When one of my friends had her first tattoo the guy just put on his headphones and ignored her and she was really nervous so just make sure you go to a good shop. It will prob only take 15 mins or so if its behing your ear but that includes sorting out the design. I have quite alot of piercings and the last one my tragus i was really worried about because all the others were on soft skin so i used this cream called emla and i swear i didnt feel the piercing at all it was amazing you could use that for your tattoo. You can buy it from boots for about 3 quid and it numbs the skin. Its not on the shelves you have to ask at the chemist counter in boots. You just put it on an hour before then cover it will clingfilm to make sure no air gets it.
